LOÏE FULLER. DIE ELEKTRISCHE FEE – at dotdotdot in Vienna

In the summer of 2015, the international open-air short film festival dotdotdot took over from espressofilm (2010-2014) – as a cinematic local supplier in Vienna’s 8th district and meeting place for people eager to leave private and political comfort zones.

In Morse code, three short signals (dot)stand for the letter S as in short or short film festival. At the end of a sentence, three dots stand for what is not said, for omissions and open questions. Freely following the festival credo of dotdotdot, at the end of which there are three dots, the programme leaves empty spaces where discussions can ignite and opens up spaces for thinking, talking and doing.

But only those who can watch films together can talk about films together. As the first film festival in Austria – imitation explicitly requested! dotdotdot therefore focuses on inclusive strategies to bring people of different generations, people with and without disabilities and people with and without a budget for participation in cultural life together to the festival and into conversation with each other.
